Asian Hockey Federation
Cup 2008: 6 countries
battle out an exciting
competition
Muscat, January 2008:
On January 14th 2008, Oman
will play a significant role
in the Asian Hockey
Federation's 2008 Cup.
Hosted by the Oman Hockey
Association and sponsored by
Masafi, the Men's junior
competition will be
hotly-contested within the
Sultanate at the Sultan
Qaboos Complex.
H.E. The Secretary
General of the Ministry
of Finance, Darwish
Ismail Al Balushi, will
preside over the opening
ceremony for this
illustrious competition,
and the 2nd men's Junior
Hockey competition will
run until the 22nd of
January 2008.
The competition will be
nothing short of
spectacular as six
countries including
China, Chinese-Taipei,
Singapore, Sri Lanka,
Thailand and of course
Oman, battle it out to
see who will be
champion.
Mr. A. A. Dawood,
President of the Oman
Hockey Association said:
"The OHA is proud to
play host to this
exciting portion of the
Asian Hockey
Federation's 2008 Cup.
We are very aware that
an event like this will
attract an international
audience and will help
highlight the
Sultanate's sporting
spirit to the rest of
the world."
